Candle Care

Good burn habits support an even melt pool, consistent scent, and safer performance.

Home Fragrance
Trimming a candle wick before use

Our current candles use cotton wicks. Follow the warning label on the vessel and these general care practices every time you burn one.

Before Lighting

  • Trim the cotton wick to approximately ¼ inch.
  • Place on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, vents, fabrics, and anything flammable.
  • Keep away from children and pets.

While Burning

  • On early burns, allow the melt pool to approach the vessel edges when safely possible.
  • Burn no longer than four hours at a time.
  • Keep the wax pool free of matches, wick trimmings, and debris.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Extinguishing

  • Use a snuffer when available; never use water.
  • Let the candle cool completely before touching, moving, trimming, or relighting.
  • Stop use when approximately ½ inch of wax remains.

Storage

  • Replace the lid after the candle is fully cool.
  • Store upright in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and temperature extremes.
  • Do not use a cracked, chipped, or otherwise damaged vessel.

Wax Melt Care

Use only in an approved warmer designed specifically for scented wax.

Using Melts

  • Use an appropriate amount for the warmer dish without overfilling.
  • Never add water, fragrance oil, or another substance.
  • Keep the warmer level, ventilated, and away from children, pets, drafts, and flammable materials.
  • Follow the warmer manufacturer’s directions.

Replacing & Storing

  • Rewarm wax until the fragrance fades, then let it cool before removal.
  • Never pour hot wax into a drain.
  • Store unused melts sealed, cool, dry, and away from sunlight or heat.
  • Softened melts may be cooled until firm again.
A wax warmer creates heat even without an exposed flame. Never leave it operating unattended.

Soap & Shampoo Bar Care

All finished bar formats last longer when allowed to drain and dry completely.

Between Uses

  • Use a well-draining dish, rack, or bar saver.
  • Keep the bar out of standing water and direct shower spray.
  • Allow every side to dry; rotate the bar if needed.
  • Store unused bars cool and dry with airflow.

Shampoo Bars

  • Wet hair and bar, then lather in hands or glide gently as directed.
  • Rinse hair and scalp thoroughly.
  • Keep the bar outside the wet shower area between uses.
  • Avoid contact with eyes and discontinue for irritation.
Humidity may create harmless surface moisture or “dew” on some finished bars. Move the bar to a drier location with airflow. Surface appearance may vary without affecting ordinary use.

Clean handling and stable storage matter for balms, salves, oils, lotions, butters, scrubs, creams, and lip products.

Clean Handling

  • Wash and dry hands before use, or use a clean, dry scoop.
  • Use the pump, dropper, or dispenser supplied without touching it to skin.
  • Do not add water, oils, herbs, or other ingredients to the container.
  • Close the package tightly after each use.

Storage

  • Store at normal room temperature away from sunlight, humidity, and high heat.
  • Do not leave products in hot vehicles or freezing conditions.
  • Keep labels readable and products in their original containers.
  • Follow any product-specific use-by or storage instruction.

Temperature Changes

  • Balms, salves, lip products, and lotion bars may soften or melt, then firm again when cooled upright.
  • Whipped body butter can lose its whipped texture after melting.
  • Cold products may be allowed to return naturally to room temperature.
  • Do not microwave or apply direct heat.

Before & During Use

  • Review the ingredient list and patch test before first use.
  • Avoid eyes and other sensitive areas unless the label permits use.
  • Use only as directed and discontinue if irritation develops.
  • Do not use a product that appears contaminated or materially spoiled.

Dry Clay Mask Care

Keep the dry mask powder moisture-free and mix only what you will use.

Face It

Mixing

  • Place the label-directed amount in a clean, dry nonreactive dish.
  • Add water gradually and mix to the desired spreadable consistency.
  • Prepare only enough for one application.
  • Never return mixed or wet material to the original package.

Use & Storage

  • Use the mixed mask immediately and discard any remainder.
  • Do not store a hydrated mask for later use.
  • Keep the original powder sealed, cool, and completely dry.
  • Avoid eyes, patch test first, and follow label timing rather than allowing the mask to become uncomfortably dry.

Bath Bomb & Bath Tea Care

Protect these products from moisture until use and take care around slippery surfaces.

Bath Rituals

Before Use

  • Store sealed in a cool, dry place and use promptly after opening.
  • Handle bath bombs with dry hands.
  • Use bath tea in the supplied bag or pouch as directed to contain botanicals.
  • Patch test when appropriate and review ingredients for sensitivities.

During & After Use

  • Use only the amount directed and discontinue for irritation.
  • Use caution: oils, clays, and botanicals can make the tub slippery.
  • Rinse the tub and remove botanical material promptly after use.
  • Colorants or botanicals may temporarily mark porous, damaged, or unsealed surfaces; test when concerned.

Dry storage protects aroma and quality; clean preparation protects the finished cup.

Dry Tea Storage

  • Keep the 20 individually sealed tea bags inside the original outer package pouch at room temperature.
  • Protect from moisture, humidity, sunlight, heat, pests, and strong odors.
  • Do not use a tea bag if its individual seal is open, torn, wet, or otherwise compromised.
  • Follow any lot, storage, best-by, or use-after-opening information printed on the package.

After Brewing

  • Enjoy immediately for best quality.
  • If preparing ahead, refrigerate promptly in a clean, covered container.
  • Consume refrigerated brewed tea within three days.
  • Do not leave brewed tea at room temperature for more than two hours; discard sooner for unusual odor, flavor, appearance, cloudiness, bubbling, or other spoilage signs.
Use clean potable water and follow the preparation directions on the individual tea label. Herbal tea is a conventional beverage and is not a substitute for medical care.

Pet Product Care

Product-specific labels control species, serving, application, refrigeration, and storage.

Treat Storage

  • Keep sealed at room temperature unless the label directs refrigeration.
  • Products such as fruit leathers that require refrigeration must remain refrigerated as labeled.
  • Follow every marked best-by or use-after-opening date.
  • When no date is marked, the product is designed to remain stable for at least three months when stored as directed.

Treat Safety

  • Supervise use and offer only an appropriate portion and size.
  • Review ingredients for known allergies or restrictions.
  • Treats supplement—not replace—a complete diet.
  • Discard products showing mold, unusual odor, moisture damage, or spoilage.

Herbal & Topical Products

  • Intended primarily for dogs unless the label expressly identifies another species.
  • Prevent licking until absorbed where applicable.
  • Avoid eyes, nose, mouth, genitals, and broken skin unless expressly directed.
  • Use only the labeled amount and area.

When to Stop

  • Discontinue for irritation, digestive upset, unusual behavior, or another concerning response.
  • Contact a veterinarian about reactions, medical conditions, medications, pregnancy, nursing, or dietary restrictions.
  • Pet herbal products do not replace veterinary diagnosis or treatment.
  • Keep every pet product out of reach when not being given or applied.

General Freshness & Seasonal Care

Labels and product-specific instructions always take priority over general guidance.

Dates & Freshness

  • Use products by any printed best-by, expiration, or use-after-opening date.
  • Do not transfer products to an unlabeled container.
  • Close packages promptly and minimize unnecessary air, water, heat, and handling.
  • When uncertain, stop use and ask us before continuing.

Heat, Cold & Humidity

  • Let temperature-sensitive products return naturally to room temperature before use.
  • Do not freeze, microwave, or force-cool products unless specifically directed.
  • Humidity may soften dry goods, affect bars, and shorten freshness after opening.
