Our Ingredient Philosophy
Good products do not need to be complicated. When ingredients are chosen with purpose and formulas are built thoughtfully, the result is something that feels better to use and easier to trust.
We design our products to be simple, effective, and cozy in everyday life — avoiding unnecessary fillers and focusing on ingredients that genuinely contribute to performance, comfort, and experience.
Skin & Body Care Standards
Our skincare and body care formulas are built around nourishing plant oils, botanical butters, and skin-supportive ingredients chosen to hydrate, protect, and improve overall skin feel.
Fragrance may come from carefully selected fragrance oils, essential oils, or balanced blends chosen to be appropriate for the intended product and overall experience.
Water-free formulas such as balms, oils, and salves naturally resist microbial growth and typically do not require preservatives. When water-based products are created, we use cosmetic-grade preservative systems selected for stability and safety.
Candle & Home Fragrance Standards
Our candles are crafted using a premium coconut–soy wax blend selected for clean burning, excellent scent performance, and a smooth finish.
We avoid paraffin and petroleum-based waxes.
Candles may use lead-free cotton wicks, wooden wicks, or wickless formats depending on the design. Each option is carefully tested to support safe and consistent home fragrance performance.
Fragrance oils used in home fragrance follow IFRA safety standards and are selected specifically for candle and home use.

While many of our current formulas focus on effective oils, butters, waxes, and thoughtfully selected cosmetic ingredients, the future of The Apawthecary Co. will continue exploring botanical and apothecary-inspired craftsmanship.
Future formulations may increasingly incorporate herbs, plant infusions, and traditional wellness-inspired ingredients while staying grounded in modern formulation practices and honest product standards.

Our products are made with close attention to ingredients, formulation balance, and performance. This thoughtful approach allows us to refine products carefully while maintaining the standards we expect in our own home.
Every product we create is cruelty-free. Our candles may feature cotton, wood, or wickless formats, and many of our candles and select skincare products are vegan depending on the formula.
All products are proudly made in the USA, and many of our containers and packaging components are designed to be curbside recyclable whenever possible.
Pets are part of our brand story and the homes that inspire us, but our focus remains on creating self-care and home products that feel good to use, easy to trust, and comfortable to live with.
