At The Apawthecary Co., every candle, body product, and pet treat begins with a simple philosophy: use better materials, keep ingredients recognizable, and craft everything in small batches so your home feels warm, safe, and intentional.
This page explains what we use — and what we never use.
CANDLE STANDARDS
Wax
We pour a premium coconut–soy blend with a high coconut content. This blend creates a cleaner, softer burn with excellent scent throw, minimal soot, and smooth, beautiful finishes. We never use paraffin or petroleum.
Wicks
Our candles use eco-friendly cotton wicks that are clean-burning and lead-free. Luxe editions may feature wooden crackling wicks that are tested for pet comfort (Kylo-approved).
Fragrance Oils
Every candle is scented with carefully selected, pet-conscious fragrance oils that are phthalate-free, paraben-free, carcinogen-free, mutagen-free, and reproductive-toxin-free. All fragrances are vetted to meet IFRA safety standards.
BODY CARE STANDARDS
Base Ingredients
We craft our body essentials using plant oils, butters, botanicals, natural exfoliants, and skin-safe fragrance oils. Each formula is designed to nourish dry or irritated skin without heaviness or residue.
What We Avoid
We do not use petroleum or mineral oil, silicones, parabens, phthalates, sulfates, formaldehyde donors, or harsh synthetic additives.
Preservative Philosophy
Our body products are water-free and preservative-free. This gives them a naturally shorter shelf life, typically 6–9 months. Packaging sizes are intentionally chosen so products stay fresh and are enjoyed well before any decline in quality.
PET TREAT STANDARDS
We make our treats the same way we make food for our own dog — simple, clean, and grounded in real ingredients.
Always Included
Our recipes use human-grade ingredients, real fruits, vegetables, broths, seeds, gentle oat-based flours, and the freshness that only comes from small-batch production.
Always Avoided
We never use wheat, soy, corn, artificial colors, artificial preservatives, artificial flavors, or rendered meats.
Functional Ingredients
Our treat formulas incorporate natural, purposeful ingredients known for supportive benefits, such as joint-supportive spices, coat-nourishing fats, and calming botanicals. We never make medical claims — just wholesome, thoughtfully made treats.
